In the quest to find other interesting tools, Bolt’s Antique Tool Museum has begun acquiring kitchen gadgets from the early 1900’s that are sure to make you wonder how cooks survived without all of the electronic and specialty gadgets that we all take for granted today.  The exhibit includes many donated items from local resident’s Susie Cunningham and Pat Fore who each had been collecting kitchen gadgets for some time.

The museum which opened in 2006 not only has tools that have been used in the United
States, but also has tools from 4000 years ago including tools thought to be made by
Egyptians and Romans in 400 B.C. A barbed-wire collection, old gas pumps, blacksmith tools
and 125 tools representing 51 different railroads provides insight into earlier days in the
United States. A gift shop which has many memorable items including a special $1.00 table
for tools to take home and the latest addition of custom greeting cards with a tool flair that
are the creation of Mary Gunderson is available to make purchases for that special tool
enthusiast in your life. Museum founder, 'Bud' Bolt said, “Mary visited the museum with a
car club and was so enthused with the various displays that she came back with a series of
very creative greeting cards that depict different items throughout the museum.”

The History in your Hands program presentations are designed for ten to fifty participants
and are held at the museum. A $3.00 per person fee is charged and the museum can assist
groups with luncheon arrangements. The program is a not-to-miss interactive experience,
as is the large collection of over 10,000 antique tools.

Contact the museum at (530) 538-2528 for additional information and starting times for
